In Ayurveda, all the biological organisms and processes occur due to three energetic principles. They are called as Tridoshas namely Vata, Pitta & Kapha. When these doshas are get imbalanced, disese starts. The word Dosha, which roughly means a fault. Doshas are energies, which are constantly changing and interacting and often, All the three doshas are formed by the a combination of two, out of the five universal elements: which are; earth, water, wind, fire, earth and space. Every being, whether human or not is born with a unique balance of tridosha; which is called his prakriti.
The tridosha includes: Vata, Pitta, Kapha.
- Vata dosha: Vata dosha can rightly be equated to Kinetic Energy & responsible for any moment in the body.
- Pitta dosha: Pitta represents the somatic energy in all living forms. In a living cell, it converts the ingested food into energy. Pitta maintains the natural pigmentation/colour of cells.
- Kapha dosha: If Vata is kinetic energy then Kapha is potential energy.
